Knee injuries are very common for any athlete, be it cycling, running or football. Because we are dependent on our legs for our mobility, they also happen to be the first point of contact. Knee joints are complex with many tendons, muscles, and ligaments working for each moment. Knees run at a high risk of injuries because of the intense athletic activity that we might subject them to.
One needs to eat well, train, stretch and take certain precautions to look after their joint health daily.
I myself have run into many knee injuries due to a weak left knee primarily because of a history of an ACL reconstruction surgery a few years ago. I have run into Patella Tendonitis, IT band strains and many more. I have started using this Smoothie myself and found a great difference to the inflammation and pain.
Pineapple Cinnamon Smoothie
Here is a simple way to make this smoothie.
- Pineapple. Diced 2 cups
- Papaya. Diced 2 cups
- Orange. 1 piece
- Almonds. Handful
- Cinnamon powder. 1/4 teaspoon
- Honey . 1 tablespoon
- Dates. 2-3 pieces as a sweetener
How to Prepare the smoothie
- Add all the ingredients in a blender
- add 200 ml water
- pulse the mixture for 30 seconds or until smooth
- Chill and Serve
